We found out yesterday our berth in the marina will be ready for Wednesday and we’ve paid on this mooring ball up until yesterday. We were planning to leave here today for the south-east beaches on the weekend but it is blowing like crazy and we figure it would be a rough crossing and probably not very pleasant anchorages. We reckon no one is going to come out to charge us for this ball on a weekend.
Instead we decide to stay at least today. We’ve also decided I will buy a cancellable Digicel plan which gives me 400 gb of data for EUR$35 per month. Bell is still too expensive at C$110 per month for international roaming. I may keep the plan all through summer, not sure.
So after deciding all this, I take the dinghy into the marina, all the way around to the aquarium and walk over to the Leclerc mall where KPhone/Digicel is. Even find a short cut so it’s less than a 10 minute walk. The same girl that helped me a week ago is there and when I tell her the story that they won’t give me more data because I don’t use any cell time she said “That’s crazy”. That’s what I said. No matter, I buy the plan, get a new SIM and everything is working. Stop at Leclerc but still no eggs. Stop at the pharmacy but they don’t sell shaving cream. Crazy.
On the way back I stop and fill up our spare gas cans at the gas dock.
While I was gone Christy made an “A vendre” sign for the dinghy and also cut out two Milu paws from the decal material we found. Forgot about that until I remembered it.
Blowin’ like 60 all afternoon and it’s fun to watch the very talented wind surfers. Late in the afternoon it’s almost too windy for them and 3 are down in the water struggling to get up, but they do.

In the afternoon I try to get the generator running just to make sure it’s working and to make some hot water. It’s not working. Climb down into the lazarette and after poking around a bit I find the battery is dead. There is some water down there also – could this be the source of our leak? I dry it up and on reflection I don’t think so but will keep an eye on it. Need a 220V extension cord to charge that battery.
We’re also low on water in the front tank so I pumped some out of the rear tank and turned the water maker on for 2 hours. Both tanks show full but I know that is a lie, I suspect they are both about half full. That is OK.
We have swims/showers without hot water and I shave anyway – feels really good to get cleaned up.
Other than that, I dont really think we did much of anything.
