The kids were the last to leave on Boxing Day. We were sorry to see them go but kids will be kids. That left Christy and I to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary alone.
There was no snow for skiing and the lake wasn’t even frozen so not too much to do but clean up after Christmas and relax. The highlight of the day was at night when we pulled out our wedding video and watched it for the first time in maybe 24 years. So much to remember but just as much forgotten as the video covers Christmas Day and the lead up to the wedding.
Aside from the prevalence of thinner people and more hair, the one thing I had forgotten was that Christy’s sisters did 90% of the video recording and commentary. They did an awesome job given old technology and poor lighting and we told them so.
The next few days were spent preparing for our upcoming trip to Grenada with the kids. We all fly together on the third of January, then Christy and I stay for another week to do some boat shopping.
Last highlight (?) of the year was a quiet bonfire – just Christy and me down at the lake quietly. Warm enough we were able to have a fire but eventually went inside to play “Sequence” – a card/puzzle game we learned from Scott and Carol. Christy made the board and gave it to me for Christmas.
