Jan 5, 2024 – Carriacou, Grenada

You may have noticed not too many pictures of Christy yet on this trip. Might as well fess up now. In three days from now I will lose my phone and all the pictures that were on it. Stupid bass Todd. So everything here is from Christy and the kids.

Another beautiful day – kids generally sleep in, Dad’s up making coffee and Mom not far behind. We are underway before the kids make their appearance.

The sail to Carriacou is fairly long, about 6 hours at least. We start out under sail and Christy and I are enjoying it but it is pretty rough into the wind and we have to tack AWAY from Carriacou so we quickly reduce sail and motor sail the rest of the way. We get there in reasonable time and decide to stop at Sandy Island, an idyllic little sand spit right out of Gilligan’s Island.

Autopilot is great

But it’s hot and only mom feels like snorkeling so she does that to get back to the anchored cat while the rest of us take the dinghy back. We consider anchoring in L’Esterre Bay outside of Tyrell but the wind is not favourable so we head over to Tyrell Bay where we get a nice anchorage and go ashore for dinner.
