Day 10 – Savannah

Up pretty early, Travis and I have a 9 am tee time at the Oak Ridge course at The Landings about 20 minutes away and we like to warm up. https://www.landingsclub.com/oakridge-course

Great egg souffle kinda gig for breakfast and we’re off. Perfect golf weather never too hot, never too windy, never cold.

We play with Bill and – waddya know, another Perry. Good friends of Travis’ and good guys. I am striping it on the range, sinking every putt on the putting green. That’s where the good golf for me ends. But we have a terrific time, can’t believe how friendly everyone is from the pro shop on. One oh-so-delicious beer at the gorgeous clubhouse and we head back.

The girls have not left the house and have been chatting all morning. Can’t get a dinner reservation downtown so we elect for dinner at the famous Crab Shack on Tybee Island, our treat. It is a pretty authentic place apparently started by (still run by?) some perhaps less than legit people. Who cares, we have steamed oysters, crab legs galore (Travis shows me how to open them otherwise I’d still be there). Very organized dining – round plywood table top with a large hole in the middle right above a garbage pail – just chuck all your waste in there. Of course wicker basket lamp shades.

Quick tour around Tybee Island which is a bit like Myrtle Beach stip but people actually live there. Another huge beach. Lotsa history as Trina used to live there and has tons of stories.

Tybee Island. Took this while parasailing

Roll back home, Travis and I watch the Florida Gators win (his alma mater so very happy) then solve a few of the world’s problems before an early bed time. Christy and I have to depart 7ish in the morning.
