Feb 23, 2023 – Huntsville to Toronto

Quite a bit of snow overnight but not the Armageddon the media made it out to be. Just an average Ontario winter day. About -15 C in the AM, warms up substantially.

Lots to do this morning – complete the packing exercise, eat all remaining food, and shut down the cottage. F’ing wet vac burns out so I have to drain the toilets by hand but otherwise just another routine shutdown, takes a long time to drain the hot water tank tho, gonna have to put a valve on the outlet side so I can start that earlier.

A big concern of mine is a problematic customer install. If I don’t fix it today it is going to be hard to do over the next 3 weeks and that means a month of not getting paid and perhaps an irate customer. Been waiting for firewall changes and I get an email they’re done but I can’t test until this evening. We’re departing tomorrow at 6 am.

Leaving paradise for paradise

The drive to Toronto is uneventful until Ravenshoe when the freezing rain starts. Pause the sailing exam practice cuz I am kinda busy. Our defrost on high, plenty of squirts and the road is not icy so doesn’t become much more than an annoyance.

Back in the city, I logon to the customer’s net and try the install again.

… il ne marche pas ….

Using my rockhead brain I figure a setting is not right tho I was told to use it. I change it.

… wait for it ..

WORKS! I am liberated.
