Hot and sunny, rain storms in the distance, looks like rain as I write this.
We’re up early as we plan on meeting the Walking Club at Island View for the Sunday walk. They meet at 8:00 am and we’re on time, about 8 of us.
We’re going up the Woburn Road to Welcome Road, then on to Wiggy’s Bar for the great views. Sounds good. My feet and legs have recovered enough and so has Christy’s knee. The walk is nice, uphill all the way of course. A little concerning to see some locals drinking beer at 8:30 am on Sunday morning at a couple of the roadside bars. Guess that’s normal, we get to Wiggy’s which does have spectacular views and about half of the group dive into the beers. It’s 9 am.

We’re both hoping this is not a Hash-like repeat where a nice walk turns into a 3 hour affair. Sue and Pete are nice and also not the kind to drink 2 beers before 9 am so we eventually start off again. We’re taking the long way around back to the main road and then down the one-way short cut down to Woodlands Main Road and then back onto Lower Woburn and Island View where the dinghy is.
The gang stops for another beer at a roadside bar on Upper Woburn. At the corner of Grand Anse and Lower Woburn Sue says the watermelons are good and the prices too so we buy one. Short walk back up to Island View where the walk ends. Some of the gang go into Taffy’s for another beer. That’s 4 and it’s not yet 10 am. For some, that’s the cruising life.
It’s quite a hot day, almost no wind. It’s actually cooler in the galley since our bimini is still not raised and we have fans and no sun. We work on things, Christy pulls out yesterday’s tuna salad and makes banana bread. Life is good.
But we eventually do a garbage and gas run. Dropping off garbage at Clarke’s we go to see Axel and invite him to Hog Island for 4 pm for a beer and a burger. Then we go to La Phare Bleu to get gas. Takes a while but we’re not in a hurry. They don’t have any diesel but it’s just for spare anyway and we still have 3/4 of a tank.
Back on board we do stuff. It’s quite hot and we jump in from time to time.
Soon we head off to Hog Island, take 3 beer and sit in the water with Axel. It’s quite pleasant.
Burger is pretty good, one more beer and we leave as it’s getting dark.
Starting to thunder and lightning as a I write this, hope it is not too severe.
