We’re up and at it early, we’re leaving the harbour under near-perfect conditions by 8 am. Goodbye Woburn, Mt. Hartman and Grenada for a while.
Boy, does it feel good to be out on the sea again. Milu’s engine is running well, the sails are working and the winds are favourable. We’re both really enjoying moving again, it is like a big weight has been lifted. Granted, our boat leaks water but hopefully we will get that solved soon.

The ride to Carriacou is a long one, about 30 miles. Once you get in the lee of Grenada the winds become very fickle. At one point we could have water skied it is so calm, then it is blowing hard from the north east. Strangely, the winds calm a bit out past Isle da Ronde and we end up motor-sailing as we’re only making 3 kts or so and need to get there by dark.

We decide to try fishing so I throw out the rod and a lure. About an hour out of Carriacou I notice the rod bent and all the line unrolled – guess I didn’t hear the drag going. Christy and I take turns wrestling the catch back to the boat. Feels large.

Turns out to be a lump of Sargasso weed.

We’re anchored safely at Paradise Beach by about 4:30 pm. Couple other boats there but not too busy. Too late to go anywhere so Christy whips up something for us for dinner.
