Today we’re going to try and fix our poor dinghy. The bumper has been hanging off of it the whole time and Christy wants to paint it.
After breakfast we dinghy over to the beach, find a bit of shade and begin the process. We clean the dinghy and bumper with MKE and scrape as much as we can. Then I start gluing the gaps on one side and eventually the disconnected bumper with this super glue while Christy paints.
Paint job looks good and hopefully this g-d expensive glue will hold.

We need to give the glue and paint time to dry so we’ll walk to The Ranch (we’ve heard it’s open) for lunch. Its’ a great walk across the headlands on the windward side and we both really enjoy it.
We walk to the end of the windward beach by Saltwhistle Bay but after about a half hour of getting scratched to pieces we give up trying to find the path. The whole area is blown down but I never would have guessed we wouldn’t be able to find the path. Monroe, owner of The Ranch tells us later there is no way to get through from either end and he is going to have to clear it with a chainsaw. Hopefully next time.

No choice but to walk there via the main road.
I realize I’ve forgotten my shirt so jog back to the dinghy to get it. Funny, no one stole my stinky shirt. Catch up with Christy as she’s walking up the hill to the main town.
We heard about the old church being blown down and sure enough it is in bad shape. 200 years old and this was the first hurricane to defeat it. Still great views and we donate our pocket change to the cause. Walk through the town to The Ranch on the windward side. Town doesn’t look too bad as far as hurricane damage, tho there are definitely casualties.
There’s a huge catamaran in the middle of the salt pond! Testament to the power of the wind.
Nice to get to The Ranch after a hot walk. Couple cold Harouns taste so good. We meet Brigitte and Richard there, they are anchored in Saline Bay and tell us it is great, next time we will anchor there. But the topic of Ukraine comes up and Brigitte is a full on Ukraine supporter. “Why do you say Zelenski is corrupt?” OMG. It gets a little warm and I whisper to Christy that’ enough cuz this is going nowhere good.

The red snapper lunch is great and after relaxing in the new cabana, leaving plenty of time for Brigitte and Richard to get ahead of us. We accept a ride from Monroe back to SWB.
Dinghy is looking good but we decide to go to The Last Bar before the Jungle for some bevies to give it a bit more time to dry.
Meet a few yachties there including the fivesome whose dinghy we helped rescue twice today and have a couple too many bevies including the delicious BBC (Banana, Baileys, Coconut and lotsa Rum). Those are good.

Dinghy ride back to Milu, dinner, bed.
