31 March 2025, Monday, Chatham Bay to Mt. Hartman Bay, Grenada

We’re up early and off and sailing for the east side of Grenada and the approximately 8 hour sail down to Mt. Hartman Bay. Andre and Claire wave good bye and we set up in fair winds. They didn’t realize you could check into Grenada at Prickly Bay until we told them so perhaps we will see them soon. They were planning on staying one night in Tyrell Bay so they could check in there.

The sail is enjoyable, we make good time all the way down. For the last hour the wind is directly behind us so we end up slowing down and rolling around a lot. Later on George tells us he prefers to sail down the west coast and that if you stay close to shore, you don’t get stuck in the doldrums. Hmmm, does that explain why we saw all those boats ahead of us close to shore off St. Vincent going to St. Lucia? Yes, according to George.

George meets us at the mooring and he takes a few minutes to untangle it before hooking us up.

Good to be back in a way. Now it’s time to start prepping for departure. It is supposed to get windier over the next few days so we hope we can get the foresail down safely some time.
