5 Nov 2025, Wednesday, Mt. Hartman Bay, Grenada

Getting started on this again, I have been after Christy to upload pics but she has yet to do it. The camera on my phone is pretty much broken after getting run over by a truck on S. Waseosa Road a couple summers ago. That was after it fell out of my top tube bike holder and bounced along the pavement a few times. I was shocked it still worked. But the camera lens’ are pretty busted.

Yesterday, we took the boat onto the dock at Secret Harbour early in the morning so Christy could catch the 9:00 am shopping bus. She’ll get cash, groceries and supplies at the hardware and chandleries while I get the boat ready to load up our water tanks. We decided to just put some treatment in the water tanks since it is impossible to open the ports on the tanks themselves. Christy will pick up the goop at Budget. I fill up our dinghy gas tanks and work on other projects until she gets back.

Later we return to George’s mooring, proud of our basic boat movements.

Today is Wednesday and we are hoping to go to La Phare Bleu for backgammon and wings after I fix the bow thruster. Once I do that, I can put the forward berth back together.

But this turns out to be a one step forward, two steps back kinda day.

We go into Secret Harbour to meet John from Fast Manicou on his regular Wednesday run. We have coffees in the restaurant too.

Coupla C$10 coffees at SH

When we get back to Milu, I can hear the water pump running. Why is the water pump running? Turns out our little pressure tank exploded while we were out.

Just a little pit pooched

That changes everything about the day.

I do the research and both Budget and IWW have spares, but we decide to try Clarkes chandlery to save us a trip. They don’t have so that’s 45 minutes of travel for nothing. We decide to walk to Budget. It’s a hot walk, not bad though and the round trip takes 90 minutes including time at Budget where we run into Andre and Claire who we met at Chatham Bay last April.

They call them accumulator tanks here, took me a bit to find it online. Only slightly better than the one above. C$200 here.

Back on Milu, of course the fittings don’t work on the pex side so back to Clarke’s. We’ll get the fittings, then go for wings at LPB. Clarke’s doesn’t have the fittings. Sigh. Christy gets a call from Michael who is ready with our bimini and his guys are at the Secret Harbour dock waiting for us. So no wings.

We rush back to SH, pick up the guys who test-install the bimini. It still needs changes so after about an hour we are back on the boat, not much further ahead tho the new dodger is installed and looks great.

We decide to go to LPB anyway for wings. It’ll be dark on the way back but tonight is the full moon so shouldn’t be an issue. Seas have been quite calm also. We make our third trip across Woburn Bay, have a loooong dinner as the place is packed then motor back to catch the last set of Kool Jazz at SH.

Turns out today is the one year anniversary of the arrival of Brenda, Emma, Grail and Netty. We take a pic and Christy sends via email.

That’s not my beer, we’re soda drinkers now
