We were planning on leaving today, headed north east to Carriacou. The plan was to have lunch at the underwater sculpture park, then go to Gouyave for their famous fish fry Friday night. Anchor in that bay overnight. We told George yesterday and he is coming by with a float so we can cast off our lines.
Well, with yesterday’s shenanigans we didn’t get some things done that we wanted to do, including getting some more groceries so we decide to postpone. Besides, after reaching out to Cruiser Net on VHF, we hear anchoring in Gouyave Bay is neither comfortable nor safe. We call George and he says no problem, he comes by anyway with the ball so we can cast off ourselves tomorrow.
So we decide to walk to Grand Anse beach which we haven’t even seen in the two weeks we’ve been here, get some groceries on the way back.

It’s a hot walk but we do some comparison shopping at the Ram, CK’s, get a roti, (“No minis, no chicken, no beef, no fish”) and hit a couple of other places looking for a pepper mill. Apparently, the don’t have those in Grenada.

Not much to look at but still tastes great,
Then to Grand Anse for a swim, had to move our blanket once to get away from the young rap crowd and their ghetto blaster. We spend about an hour I guess, Christy accosted by a well-meaning (?) potion salesman while I am on a long swim up the beach and back.
All’s fair, we leave, pick up 24 large soda water bottles at CK’s, then Christy gets the rest of the stuff at Rams while I wait outside with a very heavy back pack. Then we walk to The Brewery where we’ve promised ourselves a mug of their icy watermelon cider.
They don’t have it. We get the regular versions which aren’t icy, aren’t particularly good, we don’t finish them. Just walk the last 20 minutes back to Milu where we unpack and unlax.
