Our friends David and Jackie have come into the bay and swing by as they look for an anchorage. Nothing really viable where we are so they head over to the north side of the harbour.
It rains quite frequently here (in the Caribbean in general this season) so often hard to get going since whenever we get ready to go big black rain clouds seem to descend upon us. That’s our excuse for tardiness anyway.
Seems to me we don’t get a lot done today, work on a few things around the boat, I am online a fair bit with work stuff.
In the afternoon we swing through the bay and find David and Jackie. We agree to meet at the dinghy dock for 5:30 pm to go for dinner. At least in Antigua you don’t have to wait til 7 pm for the restaurants to open!
Around 3 pm Christy and I go to the dinghy dock and explore the walk from Pigeon Beach across to Fort Berkeley. We don’t get too far as not much time. There is an old battery atop the first rise but nothing there except the old stone “patio” where the cannons used to be. We walk a bit further – the views are great and the little bay between English and Falmouth Harbours looks divine – if you’re fabulously rich. Nice beach, very private, faces the ocean, fairly sheltered from the prevailing SE winds.

We walk maybe halfway then return as we want to go back to Milu before dinner. It’s a pleasant walk. We see young people all over in small groups, we assume they are crews for the racing boats or superyachts here. Clearly 3 guys have just finished work and are headed to Pigeon Beach for a swim.
Back at Milu we get cleaned up – I even shave! – before dinner then head in to meet Dave and Jackie. Dave meets us at the dinghy dock, they parked on the other side of the marina restaurant complex which we didn’t know about but is a much much better landing than this public one. Technically you’re supposed to use the services to use the dock but nobody checks that kind of thing. File that away for next time.
The Superyacht Marina complex is a large dock with a bunch of container restaurants and plenty of covered seating. Apparently it was a famous restaurant that burned down a few years ago. That restaurant was resurrected on the other side of the bay and supposedly is very good still.

Jackie is waiting at a table having a drink. We do the same and decide to order food right here. Dave and I each have excellent pizza while the ladies have excellent chicken and hamburgers. Nice evening.

We head back to Milu.
