Hot and sunny, humid.
I get up real early and head to Clarke’s to try the dinghy repair. Turns out it takes 2 days to seal so want to get at it early. I walk back to Izzy’s in time to help pack up and head to Bob’s.
We do biz work, lots of dinghy research. Christy has found a couple of dinghys for sale locally so maybe that will work out. There is one that looks really attractive in Egmont which is where we are staying, we can walk there to see it even.
First, we get Vie, Bob’s neighbour the taxi driver to pick us up at 11 am and check out of Izzy’s. He takes us over to Bob’s where we settle in and Bob shows us the deets on how to operate his dinghy. I do a con call/zoom with Muskoka Millwrighting as Erin is having a problem with her phone. She can’t tell I am not 2 km away but rather 3000. Gotta love the Internet. I also do a zoom session with Fidelity to setup a replacement server – big cutover this weekend. Goes quickly thanks to the install/upgrade script I wrote.
After that, we take Bob’s dinghy over to Clarke’s, with a pit stop at Ullman sails to discuss our sun shade they are going to make for us. Hey what a surprise – the material didn’t arrive so they expedited by plane from Miami. We are learning that “expedited” is a pretty loose term around here. The plan is they will come over to the boat and measure up sometime over the next few days.
We also check out the used marine parts store on that side of Woburn, but nothing much of use to us there. The used dinghy motors just look a little too sketch for us (me).

Over at Milu, we run into Martin and eventually work out a deal where they will sand the boat and we will do the priming and painting. Hopefully our barrel supplies will come in before the weekend so we don’t have to buy new paint gear but we can’t afford to delay the sanding job til next week. He says they will start tomorrow (Wednesday).
We scope out paint and other gear, then head back to Bob’s as we’re supposed to meet the seller of a dinghy that looks perfect for us. It’s walking distance from Bob’s in Egmont Bay but turns out Bob knows him and he’ll come pick us up! This could be good.
As we’re getting ready to meet Ed (?) Bob comes over and says “sorry, he cancelled, usually by this time he’s had too many rums”. No worries, we’ll go tomorrow.
Nothing much else to do but chill for a change and watch the sunset.
