13 Nov 2024, Wednesday, Woburn Bay, Grenada

Hot, sunny and dry again

The sun comes out again and it’s time to revisit the world. We dinghy into the market at Clarke’s Court but find it’s closed as the vendors have been blocked in by mudslides. This is the first we learn of the much damage caused by flooding in Grenada on Tuesday. John from Fast Manicou is there tho and we do get a few supplies.

We’re in the middle of trying to repair our bimini which has several sizable rips in it. Really, we’d like to replace it. There’s a Beneteau on Clarke’s dock with the perfect bimini/dodger/rain cover which we would love to have on Milu. I am barefoot so Christy walks up to North Sails to see what it would cost to replace ours. Turns out it’s EC$18,000, about CAD$9,000. Gonna have to wait on that, but maybe next year.

Later we go to Treasure Trove to look for items we need that don’t require a trip to Ace Hardware or Island Water World – and are also much cheaper. We actually find a bunch of gear that we can put together and save a buncha bucks.

Not much else to report, I have a couple calls in the afternoon.
