Waddya know, hot and sunny!
We’re getting short on groceries and need to get a few supplies at Ace and IWW so in the morning we grab the #2 bus which takes us right to the bus terminal (never been there before) through the famous Sendall tunnel under Fort George. Turns out everything you could want is in old town, except Island Water World.
I knew I had seen a hardware store when we were down here with the girls and sure enough there is an Ace Hardware right across from the patty shop we ate at when we were escaping the rain. We hit the market for some veggies and the grocery store for some other stuff. Then we catch the #1 back to Port Louis where we stop at the other grocery store, then walk back to IWW, then walk up to catch the #2 back to Woburn.

This is all very straightforward and cheap (EC$5 for the two of us per ride) but a struggle to get in and out when loaded with bags. The buses are just vans with seats and when it’s busy it’s a bit claustrophobic and not much fun to climb out and over everyone as we often end up in the back.
First World problems.
Nice to get out finally and make the hot walk back to the dinghy and home to Milu. Swim first, unpack after.
Later we decide to check out Nimrod’s famous Thursday night Happy Hour. We’re too early tho, nothing happens until 7 pm and it’s only 4:30 pm. Not sticking around for hours here. So we head back towards Milu. On the way we see Taffy’s which we’ve heard about but never been in. Turns out they’re not normally open on Thursdays but there’s a birthday party tonight so they let us come in and have a beer. They have regular specials so we’ll come back some time.
Quiet night at home after that.
