19 Feb 2025, Wednesday, Mt. Hartman Bay, Grenada

Another great day, the wind has calmed a bit it seems and the temperatures are quite pleasant. We even use the sheets and sometimes a blanket at night!

We head over early to Clarke’s Court to hit the market there and meet Gary Haynes. We ask him for advice about our leaky boat and he suggests talking to Frankie, a local keel guru is working on a couple boats in the yard. Christy does the shopping while I go find Frankie.

Frankie’s cool, he may be able to help. I’ll call him on Monday and hopefully he can come by and take a look.

I catch up with Christy back at the restaurant where we run into Suzie who’s been here for months since her boat got trashed in the hurricane on Carriacou. Christy and I are talking about Frankie and our options for repairs and Suzie says “Why not just go to Trinidad? Everyone here is lovely and well-meaning but they’re just not competent.” Hmmm, that’s an idea.

Back at Milu, we both continue poking away at the To Do List until about 1:30 pm when we dinghy over to La Phare Bleu for a lunch of wings and I join the backgammon crowd for a few games. Good to play again and we meet a bunch of old and new friends.

We meet Marj who takes this picture of us departing.

Met Marj who owns a VRBO at Fairmont Springs. She took this picture and called me Lenny. Christy couldn’t stop laughing.

After dinner we take the short dinghy ride to see Gary play with The Cool Jazz Band at the Secret Cove Marina bar. The band is very good and we sit at the bar and chat with others.

The Cool Jazz Band. Very nice.
