I convinced Christy that we should just get the boat on the water and start sailing. Andre, a nice French-Canadian in the bay told me that he knew of a guy who had the same problem as us and had it fixed in Carriacou after Trinidad botched the job. So let’s go there and see what we can do. No point in just hanging around here. If that doesn’t work we might try going to Martinique which is supposed to be good for repairs too. Either way, we’re outta here tomorrow.
I call Frankie early and ask him about his availability to do the work in early April. We’re thinking we’ll sail a bit, come back to Clarke’s in early April, leave him the boat, go home to do my work, then maybe come back for two more weeks to close out the season and get the boat ready for hurricane time.
Anyway, Frankie is OK with that plan so we decide to depart early tomorrow morning for Carriacou.
Today we get the boat ready – clean the dinghy, fill up with water and do a little workout at the gym.

Nigel and Anne-Marie invite us over for cocktails but we’d prefer to lay low and depart early tomorrow.
