Nice to be back in Bequia. We know our way around here and it’s pretty easy going.

Nice and early I start the water transfer – pump water from the aft tank through a hose to the forward tank. It’s quite slow but works. Trouble is, I don’t trust the tank levels at all but what to do. First thing you know, the forward tank reads full, but I know that’s not right, nothing coming out the overflow. I let it run some more, then the aft tank reads empty. Doubt that too. Need 20L min to run the water maker, so I turn it on and sure enough it reads half in two minutes.

Sigh. Mostly guesswork these tanks.

After that, there seems to be some other troubles with the water this morning (I’m waiting for a morning with no troubles), the fresh water pump won’t shut off. I turn it off and take a look, everything seems to be OK, take a few things apart, I’m guessing it’s the filter before the pump, must be blocked. It’s a bit of trouble to get it out but I do without losing any blood. Looks ok tho I can’t remove the cover and the cover is cracked. That might explain the water in the bilge – I taste the water, it’s fresh (well, not tasty, but not salty). Hmmmmm. An air leak would also explain the water pump issue.

We go into town, Christy with laundry, me to chandleries to try and find a new pre-filter. No one has one but the guy at Piper Marine says to just 4200 and duct tape it. Sounds good.

Christy and I meet for breakfast at Marie’s and use their Internet to upload GBs of pics for the blog. I get mostly caught up.

Back on Milu, I goop up the filter and reattach. Seems to work, maybe that was it. (That was yesterday, today still seems to be working.)

Talked to Ben in the afternoon about possibly Audrey moving out of the condo and he getting a roommate. He was pretty keen, says no problem getting a roomy.

Later we go back in to get the laundry, the chandlery is closed so nothing to do there. Back on Milu, Christy makes another great meal out of our Mahi Mahi.
