Well, this is it. The end of the current adventure.
Don and I are up early, he makes coffee then departs, I work out in their laundry room then wait for the ladies to surface which they do at a reasonable hour.
Mel makes us a nice light breakfast while Sherpa loads the car and we entertain the two cute dogs.

Soon enough it is time to depart. Christy talks me into buying gas as close to the Canada/US border as possible. I feel that is a mistake as the gas in Detroit is $3.09 per gallon – pretty close to as good as it gets.
We pay $3.49 near the border. Just sayin’

We’re glad to be back although the temperature is considerably different than south Florida.
Cottage is intact. Heat and water come on without incident but it is clear we have had a visitor. Looks like a racoon has found his way in. We find the entry point and I board it up while Christy goes for groceries.
5 minutes later I can hear him scratching at the board. Ha! Take that Rocky. 10 minutes later he is in the kitchen. I chase him off – he goes up through the holes in the ceiling but gets a taste of my mop end on the way. Board them up and he has not been seen/heard since.
A mountain of stuff from the car we’ll pick away at the next couple of days. I’ll post a summary of significant numbers soon but at least I know we did more than 9000 km just on the Relive app.
